VP Legislative Report

Dan Engsberg,

I don’t know about you, but the rising temperatures and extra hours of sunlight have been doing wonders for me right now. I hope the first touch of spring has everyone in good spirits.

The Plumbing Board’s 2024 UPC ad hoc Chapter 15 Rulemaking Committee had their final meeting on February 18th, 2026 and you can refer to the Committees website for more information.  See https://www.dli.mn.gov/about-department/boards-and-councils/2024-upc-ad-hoc-chapter-15-rulemaking-committee

This was the final review meeting. Recommendations will be brought forward to the full Board meeting in March.

We are getting close to the end of the code review process so NOW IS THE TIME TO APPROACH THE COMMITTEE WITH ANY CODE ITEMS YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE CHANGED.

If you want to request a change, refer to
https://www.dli.mn.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/pb_request_for_action.pdf for the Request For Action form.

VP Education's Report

Mark Mayer,

As March comes around, we enter that time of year where kids are starting to wrap up their academic year.  On March 27th we will again be participating in the Minnesota Science Fair at Roy Wilkins Auditorium.  While we continue to grow our partnership with the Science Academy we try and find new ways to support students.  One of the growing needs is to provide some extra funding for out state students and schools that may need financial support.  I look forward to providing a recap of the 2026 Science fair in the April newsletter!
